WinterPRIDE is now Whistler Pride + Ski Fest | Book by Aug 31

This Spring and summer we have been hard at work in preparing for this year's 23rd annual Gay and Lesbian Ski and Snowboard festival formerly known as WinterPRIDE.  We are excited to announce that the festival has a brand new look and fresh new name: Whistler Pride and Ski Festival. 

The move was to prevent confusion in the market place as more destinations are calling their winter LGBT (and in some cases non LGBT) celebrations Winter Pride.  We are proud to call Whistler home for the past 22 years and felt that we should have the destination's name front and center with a specific word mark that is truly unique to us.

"Whistler" with the uniquely stylized characters represents the natural beauty of the Cascade Mountain range which we call home, as well as paying tribute to our First Nations heritage with the iconic Inuksuk symbol made popular at the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games here in Vancouver/Whistler. The "Astricks" Pride Snowflake signals to the reader that there is more to Whistler and invites you to learn more.

The Festival plans to reveal much of the programming next month. The focus at the start of the week will be on enhancing the ski experience and more early evening cultural programming. The closing weekend will have even better mega parties that will continue to help support some fantastic local organizations.  I am excited to share with you that this year the Whistler Pride banquet will be returning on Thursday, January 29th and will be an event you will want to attend.
