First Mr Gay Canada Edmonton Crowned!
Although Mr Gay Canada season five (MGC13) is just weeks away from competing in Antwerp, Belgium for the title of Mr Gay World, the search is on for next year's delegates for Mr Gay Canada season six (MGC14). The regional competitions kicked off in Edmonton as part of the annual Edmonton Pride Week festivities.
The delegates participated in various competitions including panel interviews and a Youth Speak Outreach hosted at the Red Ribbon Building at HIV Edmonton.
The Grand Finale was held at Buddies Nite Club with hostess Felicia. The guys worked their magic in the fashion show to impress the judges modelling outfits by The Briefing Room, Priape, Pump Underwear and Dayton Boots. After the boys put on a show for the crowd and answered the infamous final questions for the judges the decision was made and LJ Steele was crowned the first Mr Gay Canada Edmonton. LJ said "It was a privilege to run and now represent Edmonton for the Gay Canada competition. I'm looking forward to the good I can do for my community with this title." A huge thank you to all the sponsors who helped make this event possible and a special thanks to Gay Calgary Magazine for being the photographer.
